Eight Covid-19 infections have been reported in Khanh Vinh District, Khanh Hoa Province so far. Drastic measures have implemented in an effort to promptly contain the spread of the Covid-19 coronavirus.
 
Inspection boosted
 
The first case of Covid-19 community transmission was identified in Khanh Vinh District on August 1. The patient was from Nha Trang City with a negative test results for 3 times (the latest on July 29 ) but then received a positive RT-PCR test result on August 1. 27 F1 and 130 F2 have been traced; 27 homes related to positive cases at To 1, Khanh Vinh Town have been temporarily blockaded.

Van Ngoc Huong, Chairman of the District People’s Committee said 50% of State public servants are instructed to work from home, except for some special cases. The Division of Labor, War Invalids & Social Affairs has instructed communes and the town to accelerate the implementation of assistance policies to help workers and employers in need during the pandemic. Local People’s Committees have enhanced the operation of community-based Covid response teams to monitor those returning from coronavirus epicenters.
 
On August 4, Khanh Vinh District People’s Committee suggested Dien Khanh District People’s Committee would cooperate with commune People’ Committees to boost propaganda for the Directive 16 and set up  check-points in bordering areas in a bid to prevent the entry of Covid-19.
 
Covid-19 related assistance for residents
 
According to Nguyen Thu, Chief of the District Division of Labor, War Invalids & Social Affairs, under the direction of the District People’s Committee, 2,369 poor households with 11,797 members and 2,296 marginally poor households with 10,578 members are eligible for the assistance under the Government’s Decree 20/2021. 335,625kg of rice is expected to be distributed until August 10.
 
Moreover, the district will provide Covid-19 related aid for needy families with F2 individuals currently home-quarantined. The assistance is funded by the provincial Fatherland Front Committee. Covid-19 assistance totaling VND717 million and VND51 million is expected to reach 478 self-employed people and 17 business households respectively.
 
The District People’s Committee has assigned communes where there are no traditional markets to announce the list of producers and retailers trading in necessities to help local residents easily buy what they need, contributing to ensuring sufficient supply of food and other necessities. The District Center of Service and Trade, via the People’s Committees of communes and the town, has publicized the list of shops selling necessities at reasonable prices in Khanh Vinh Town and the communes of Lien Sang, Khanh Binh, Khanh Thuong, Khanh Phu, Khanh Hiep.
 
The district People’s Committee issued a plan on Covid-19 prevention and control inspection on August 6. Accordingly, the district will boost inspection to ensure price stabilization and compliance with the Directive 16 at markets, convenience stores and other shops trading in food, medicines, etc.
 
The District Steering Committee for Human Disease Prevention and Control has assigned specific tasks to members who are leaders of the district's departments and agencies for monitoring disease prevention and control. The district is making every effort to prevent the spread of the Covid-19; stabilize life and ensure food security amid the pandemic, according to Van Ngoc Huong.
