Nguyen Tan Tuan appreciated local authorities, socio-political organizations, businesses and local residents’ efforts in pandemic prevention and control with some achievements. 58% of villages and quarters have been classified as Covid-19-free “green zones”. However, the province, especially Nha Trang City and Van Ninh District, is still faced with unprecedented challenges during the pandemic.

Therefore, social distance restrictions have extended in Nha Trang City and Van Ninh District under the Prime Minister’s Directive 16 starting on August 20 till August 25 amid the emergence of new Covid-19 cases. During this period, community Covid-19 testing will be conducted in high-risk areas and new Covid-19 epicenters. Ninh Hoa, Dien Khanh, Cam Lam, Khanh Vinh and Cam Ranh are under social distance restrictions under the Prime Minister’s Directive 15. Khanh Son District alone is  under the Directive 19.

Remarkably, social isolation continues in Nha Trang City starting on August 20 to August 25. Accordingly, residents are asked to remain home except essential needs; Shopping orders are still made online and through the assistance teams.

The battle against the Covid-19 pandemic is expected to persist for long. The local authorities are working towards tightening high-risk “orange zones", "red zones and risk “yellow zones”; and loosing restrictions in Covid-free “green zones” where residents are allowed to go out for shopping, using coupons and do physical exercise in front of their houses, etc.
