Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee issued urgent Covid-19 prevention and control measures in the province on August 24. Accordingly, social distancing restrictions under the Prime Minister’s Directive 16 extend in Nha Trang City and Van Ninh District due to the on-going Covid-19 outbreak. Cam Ranh, Cam Lam, Dien Khanh and Ninh Hoa are under the Prime Minister’s Directive 15’s social distancing.
The 2 districts of Khanh Son and Khanh Vinh are under the Directive 19’s regulations; Truong Sa District is in compliance with 5K guidance. Besides, some more specific restrictions are applied in some areas in Nha Trang, Van Ninh, Cam Ranh, Cam Lam, Dien Khanh and Ninh Hoa. Some more specific measures are added to Khanh Son and Khanh Vinh.

Reportedly, out of the total 967 villages and quarters, 628 are classified as Covid-free “green areas”, 85 “yellow areas” 98 “orange areas” and 157 high-risk “red zones”.
At the meeting on August 24, Nguyen Tan Tuan, Deputy Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee asked localities to set up Covid-19 prevention and control steering centers under the Prime Minister’s direction; instruct all people, agencies and departments to combine efforts in the fight against the pandemic. VND50 billion will be allocated with VND500,000 each to people struggling during the pandemic in Khanh Hoa.

However, Khanh Hoa is still faced with unprecedented challenges during the pandemic. Nguyen Hai Ninh asked Party Committee secretaries at all levels to direct and take the highest responsibility for epidemic prevention and control in localities; Chairmen of People’s Committees at all levels to instruct the operation of Covid-19 prevention and control steering centers, focusing on tracing, vaccination, assistance, information communication and security; tighten the management of "red, orange and yellow zones", especially in Nha Trang, with military forces involved in fighting the coronavirus if necessary; improve control to maintain “green zones”, etc.
