Besides assistance and support for residents under Covid-19 lockdown and quarantine, Khanh Hoa Women’s Union has launched a dairy donation program to provide milk for children in need.
 
Khanh Hoa Women’s Union mobilized businesses and agencies to donate more than VND250 million and 1,000 cardboard boxes of fresh milk till August 9. Earlier, Khanh Hoa Women’s Union had mobilized donations and offered 1,200 liters of fresh milk and 2,400kg of condensed milk to Covid-19 patients and residents in need in locked-down and quarantine areas in Ninh Hoa Town and Nha Trang City. Nguyen Manh Thong, Chairman of Khanh Hoa Power Joint Stock Company’s Trade Union said, “Children really need help and protection amid the ongoing pandemic. Therefore, we have joined Khanh Hoa Women’s Union to help kids stay safe and healthy during the Coronavirus outbreak.”

Giving milk to kids in need in Nha Trang City.

 

Speaking at  the launching ceremony, Nguyen Hai Ninh, Central Party Committee Member, Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, highly appreciated the donation program held by Khanh Hoa Women’s Union and expressed the hope that all members in the province and benefactors would join the donation to the program, together with the local authority to improve residents’ life, especially amid the social distancing against Covid-19.

 
Reportedly, Khanh Hoa Women’s Union has brought 100 cardboard boxes of condensed milk (1kg/ box) and 200 cardboard boxes of fresh milk (1 liter/ box) to communities severely impacted by Covid-19 such as Nha Trang City, Dien Khanh District and Van Ninh District to help families with young kids during the time under lockdown due to the pandemic. Le Thi Bich Phuong, the mother of 5-year-old Vo Thi Khanh Thi, Vinh Phuoc Ward, Nha Trang City has lost work since the resurgence of Covid-19 and thus has been struggling with financial difficulties. She is so happy and grateful for the gift of milk and food to give more nutrients to their little daughter.
 
Truong Kha Phuong, a room renter at To 5, Ngoc Hiep Ward, Nha Trang City, said, “We are so grateful to the Women’s Union for the material and spiritual assistance for women in need. The gifts will help improve our children’s nutrition, health and wellbeing.”
 
The dairy donation program launched by Khanh Hoa Women's Union is committed to offering  milk to kids, especially infants who need it most in locked-down and quarantine areas to help improve their health and strengthen immune systems. The program is really practical and humanitarian, and thus it has received much concern and support from organizations, individuals and benefactors, according to Nguyen Quynh Nga, Chairperson of Khanh Hoa Women's Union.
