Khanh Hoa Provincial Confederation of Labor has fully implemented support policies for its members and laborers infected with Covid-19 or in blockaded areas, helping them to gradually overcome difficulties and stabilize life.
Practical assistance
Infected with Covid-19 when in direct contact with a positive case on July 23, a worker named N.T.T at Miboo Vina Company, Ltd. (Suoi Dau Industrial Zone, Cam Lam District) was treated at Khanh Hoa Hospital of Tropical Diseases. She has recovered and been discharged from hospital. She’s still home quarantined and unable to get back to work.
Although all the expenses during the medical isolation and treatment period were covered by the State, she has faced financial hardship due to no income to take care of her 2 little children. Therefore, the Company Trade Union has proposed a grant worth VND3 million for her to the Provincial Confederation of Labor.
T.T.L, a worker at Sakura Company (Suoi Dau Industrial Zone) was in a centralized quarantine facility for 21 days after being in close contact with a patient. During the quarantine, her family met great financial hardship as she used to be the bread winner of the family with a salary of more than VND5 million/month. Therefore, the Provincial Confederation of Labor has offered her a grant of VND1.5 million to partly share her burdens.
80 workers, including 29 F0 and 51 F1, at Hong Hai Travel Company have just received assistance. Do Van Tam, Chairperson of the company Trade Union said the practical support of the provincial Trade Union helps ease workers' burdens and difficulties. The company has also provided grants worth VND2 million/person to workers who are patients, VND1 million/person to disadvantaged workers; VND2 million/person to workers whose parents and children are patients. Besides, the company Trade Union has provided gifts, containing necessities worth VND300,000, to 300 members in need.
Caring for workers
The Provincial Confederation of Labor has issued decisions to provide aid totaling more than VND714 million in 3 phases to 755 members and workers who are F0, F1, F2 and in blockaded areas. The Provincial Confederation of Labor is considering granting assistance worth VND350 million to 648 workers in the 4th phase.

Over the past time, the Trade Union at all levels in the province has boosted propaganda for Covid-19 prevention and control regulations among employees. At 90 enterprises operating under the "3 in one spot" measures, grassroots-level Trade Union affiliations have frequently encouraged workers to overcome challenges and provided support for enterprises to ensure sufficient food and accommodation as well as meet material and spiritual needs of more than 11,300 workers. In addition, the Provincial Confederation of Labor has received and distributed more than VND300 million to buy necessities for 6,221 people working under the "3 in one spot" measures at Suoi Dau Industrial Zone; offered 40 tons of rice to the kitchens of enterprises and 5 tons of rice to tenants out of work due to the pandemic.
Moreover, the Trade Union at all levels has cooperated with local authorities to mobilize officials, individuals and businesses to donate necessities totaling more than VND3 billion to lockdown areas and front-line officials at check-points.
Besides providing assistance for members and workers in need, the Trade Union at all levels has coordinated with local authorities to assess business and production situations as well as employees’ working conditions and income in order to help solve problems arising to protect employees’ rights and build a productive work environment and harmonious labor relationships.
Trade Union officials al all levels have also promptly released allowances and benefits under the Government’s Resolution No.68. The Trade Union at all levels has constantly provided support for its members and employees in need; as well as employees who are F0, F1, F2 amidst the ongoing uncertainty of the Covid-19 pandemic, said Bui Dang Thanh, Deputy Chairman of Provincial Confederation of Labor.
