Bid to protect Covid-free "green zones"
The quarter 1 Duy Ha, Xuong Huan Ward, Nha Trang City with 145 households consisting more than 460 people has successfully maintained safe from Covid-19 in the battle against the pandemic. The quarter has operated Covid-19 check-points over the past months. Outsiders are not permitted to enter the area to keep it free from Covid-19 infection. Shippers are asked to wait outside to deliver to customers to ensure the safety regulations during the outbreak, said Nguyen Hoang, Head of the Veterans’ Association branch of Quarter 1 Duy Ha.
Phu Vinh 2 Village, Vinh Thanh Commune, Nha Trang City has also set up 4 Covid-19 check-points on main routes. Members of its self-managed team are in charge of maintaining control at the check-points watched by officials following the decision of Vinh Thanh Commune People’s Committee together with volunteers during 3 work shifts/ day.
Luu Thanh Nhan, Deputy Chairman of Nha Trang City People’s Committee said to protect green zones in Covid-19 prevention and control, the city has founded 376 self-managed teams and 409 check-points at 363 villages and quarters. All of the self-managed teams were established as regulated. All of the check-points are equipped with medical facilities and material supplies.
According to the report by the Department of Culture & Sports, 95% of 968 quarters in the province have founded self-managed teams as regulated, contributing to Covid-19 response. However, the equipment and supplies for self-managed team members are still limited.
Set of evaluation criteria for Covid-free "green” zones to be built
At the recent meeting of the Steering Board for the campaign "All people get engaged in keeping the community safe from Covid-19”, all member advocated the expansion in Covid-free "green zones” from residential areas to industrial zones, economic zones, businesses and schools. The inspection and assessment will be based on specific criteria. Therefore, the criteria need to be clearly and concisely defined; and easily applied, said Ha Quoc Tri, Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Head of the National Assembly Delegation of Khanh Hoa Province.
According to Colonel Nguyen Van Ngan, Deputy Director of the Provincial Public Security, it’s essential to make a common scheme to unite the campaign "All people get engaged in keeping the community safe from Covid-19" and other campaigns “All people protect the national security” and “All people unite to build up the cultural life” to promote overall strength to keep achievements in the fight against the Covid-19 outbreak.
According to Nguyen Thanh Ha, Director of the Department of Culture & Sports, it is necessary to expand entities subject to Covid-19 safe zones. The Department of Culture & Sports will coordinate with the Department of Health and related agencies to make specific evaluation criteria and promptly provide related consultancy for the Steering Board.
Nguyen Tan Tuan, Deputy Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee: to prepare for the reopening up after the Covid-19 wave, we need to identify exactly “green zones” applied for restaurants, resorts, tourist sites, schools, businesses, etc. Therefore, specific criteria for “green zones” are required. The Department of Culture and Sports is required to preside over and cooperate with relevant localities and agencies to supplement and update suitable criteria for individuals, organizations and businesses, adapting to the new situation. Covid-free green criteria must vary from residential areas to others such as industrial parks, schools, hospitals, tourist areas, etc.
