The Ministry of Transport has just issued regulations on temporarily operating the North-South train service to resume service meeting travelers’ demand from October 13.
Specifically, the daily SE7/8 trains will operate on the North-South rail route. The SE8 departs from Sai Gon Station at 6 on October 13 and SE7 departs from Hanoi at 6 on October 15. SE7/8 trains will pick up and drop off passengers at 23 stations, including Hanoi, Phu Ly, Nam Dinh, Ninh Binh, Bim Son, Thanh Hoa, Vinh, Yen Trung, Huong Pho, Dong Hoi, Dong Ha, Hue, Da Nang, Tam Ky, Quang Ngai, Dieu Tri, Tuy Hoa, Nha Trang, Thap Cham, Binh Thuan, Bien Hoa, Di An and Sai Gon.
The train passenger pick-up and drop-off must be in compliance with the pandemic regulations by the Ministry of Heath, Ministry of Transport and local authorities. During the pilot period, the seat distancing will be ensured in conformity with regulations related to disinfection, SARS-CoV-2 testing and vaccination.
Besides temperature screenings, passengers will be checked for body temperatures, Covid-19 digital passes or full vaccination certificates; and negative test results.
The passenger train service resumption is scheduled to be piloted until October 20.
