The Covid-19 prevention and control campaign launched by the Provincial Veterans’ Association for 2 months has drawn the participation of many officials and members, contributing to local authorities’ efforts to implement the campaign "All people get engaged in keeping the community safe from Covid-19".
Enthusiastically responding to the campaign
The Provincial Veterans’ Association has launched the campaign “Veterans get engaged in the fight against Covid-19 pandemic” aiming to raise awareness and share responsibilities for tackling the pandemic and abiding by Covid-19 response regulations of the Government, province and communities; promoting solidarity and mutual support materially and spiritually for epidemic prevention and control.
After nearly 2 months, the campaign has received much support and sparked outpouring of kindness and community spirit with specific tasks assigned for each association levels. The district-level association has directed the commune and township levels to set up self-managed pandemic response teams from grassroots emergency response team in charge of promoting the community participation in the campaign "All people get engaged in keeping the community safe from Covid-19”.
Each branch of the grassroots Veterans’ Association has built 1 self-managed Covid-19 pandemic response team with 10-15 members. 844 self-managed Veterans’ Association teams in response to Covid-19 pandemic with nearly 7,700 members have been put into operation in the province so far.
Over the past time, self-managed Veterans’ Association teams in response to Covid-19 pandemic have fulfilled tasks in villages and quarters such as building pandemic prevention and control plans; setting up Covid-19 check-points, conducting body temperature checks and raising public compliance with the Covid-19-related restrictions.
Supporting those in need
Together with fulfilling the pandemic prevention and control from the grassroots, the Veterans’ Association at all levels together with local authorities, Fatherland Front and its members has mobilized the joint effort of all cadres, Community Party members, public servants, workers and members to enthusiastically complete their tasks in all fields, striving to fulfill their assigned political tasks and contributing to the epidemic response operations in the province.
In addition, the Veterans’ Association at all levels has also promoted the mutual support campaign to help frontline officials as well as families struggling due to Covid-19. Tran Van Hanh, Chairman of the Provincial Veterans’ Association said with the spirit of mutual support and cordiality, since the campaign was launched, the Veterans’ Association has contributed and sought donations worth nearly VND850 million, more than 10 tons of rice and dozens of tons of vegetables and many necessities to help struggling families in lock-down areas and front-line workers. Moreover, the campaign “the Provincial Veterans’ Association joins Covid-19 response effort” has received the participation of its branches at all levels, promoting commitment to attempts to gradually suppress the Covid-19-outbreak in the province.
