Since the start of 2021 - 2022 school year, Khanh Hoa Department of Education & Training has called agencies, organizations and individuals outside the education sector to respond to the program "Internet and computers for students" launched by the Prime Minister in order to ensure learning undisrupted for all, especially disadvantaged students.
 
Prompt response to the program 
 
In response to the call from the Department of Education & Training, many individuals, organizations and agencies in the province have held activities to donate to the program, offering computers, laptops, mobile phones, 4G SIM cards, etc to disadvantaged students.

Tran Thi Nhung Huyen, Class 12C6, Le Hong Phong High School, Van Ninh District has received a smart phone from the Department of Education & Training in partnership with the Provincial Study Promotion Association. She is so grateful and motivated to continue effort in study. Reportedly, her family is poor. Her mother is sick and thus her father, a mason helper, is the only bread winner of the family of 3 children. Tran Thi Nhung Huyen has made constant effort to achieve good results in study.
 
Cao Thi Hau, a student at Khanh Vinh District Boarding Ethnic Minority High School is so happy to receive a mobile phone and a 4G SIM card. “I wish to have a  smart phone to serve my study online. The gift helps me to keep on learning during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, ensuring my learning undisrupted,” she said.
 
Khanh Hoa Provincial Youth Union is among organizations with prompt response to the "Internet and computers for students" program. Bui Hoai Nam, Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union said Vietlott Company Khanh Hoa Branch has donated VND200 million to the program; incorporation with Mobifone Khanh Hoa given 3,000 SIM cards totaling more than VND300 million; and offered online class management and teaching methods to schools. 
 
500 computers to be donated by late 2021
 
The "Internet and computers for students" program looks to ensuring the Internet access to all homes and providing computers for students at reasonable prices. The targets are the Internet access nationwide and 1 million of disadvantaged students receiving laptops by the end of 2021; and then no student lacking devices for online learning in the 2nd phase of 2022 – 2023.
 
Vo Hoan Hai, Director of Khanh Hoa Department of Education & Training said in 2021 - 2022, the local education sector is providing teaching through a combination of regular face-to-face on campus sessions and online learning. Online classes are essential as part of the ongoing response to the pandemic. However, many students, especially in remote areas and ethnic minority communities, still face the lack of devices for learning online. 
 
The department has required educational facilities and schools to mobilize donations among public servants and employees to voluntarily donate at least one day’s pay and other items such as laptops, computers, tablets and smart phones to help the needy with VND1.4 billion contributed so far.
 
Reportedly, the Department of Education and Training is checking the number of students lacking facilities for leaning online to report to the Provincial People’s Committee before November 10. The Provincial Education Sector’s Trade Union will receive the items and donations from the State Budget and funds to the program. The department will give 500 computers to students who are from financially disadvantaged families or have lost parents to Covid-19 to facilitate their online learning, initially in high-risk areas by the end of 2021, according to Vo Hoan Hai.
