The National Highway 27C (Nha Trang – Da Lat road) over Khanh Le Pass has reopened after 12-hour closure due to landslide.
Earlier, severe landslide, following heavy rain, had blocked the National Highway 27C from Nha Trang to Da Lat at Km41+300(P) over Khanh Le Pass. The Road Management Department III.3 had made urgent roadwork through the night to clear off some 9,000 m3 of landslide.
The National Highway 27C with steep mountainous slopes is at high risk of landslide amid prolonged torrential rain and flooding. The Road Management Department III.3 has cooperated with authorities to survey talus maintenance and repair with a total estimated investment cost of VND300 billion and submit the plan to Vietnam Road Administration for consideration and approval. The plan has many phases defining some critical points in need of urgent repair with a total investment cost of VND80 billion.
