Khanh Hoa Trade Union of Industrial and Economic Zones has made New Year celebration plans in an effort to assure a happy New Year for all employees. Truong Thi Thu, Chairperson of Khanh Hoa Trade Union of Industrial and Economic Zones said there are 44 businesses with more than 12,800 laborers at Suoi Dau Industrial Zone. 33 businesses have shifted to the “three-on-spot” production strategy, with nearly 6,500 people at work amid the Covid-19. Many laborers are facing great difficulties. Therefore, this Lunar New Year, the Trade Union will organize support activities in an effort to bring hilarious atmosphere and festive spring season to employees; ensure legal rights and legitimate aspiration; and mobilize financial assistance for workers' trip back home for the Lunar New Year. The Trade Union will organize the 2022 Lunar New Year get-together program to create warm and joyful atmosphere for those spending Tet far from home.

All for the sake of unionists and laborers

At the meeting with the Provincial Labor Confederation in mid November, Nguyen Dinh Khang, Central Party Committee Member, Chairman of Vietnam General Confederation of Labor requested the Provincial Labor Confederation to prioritize resources to improve care for workers during Tet, striving to give New Year gifts worth at least VND300,000 each; focusing on maintaining a productive work environment and harmonious labor relationships.

Bui Thanh Binh, Chairman of the provincial Labor Confederation said since early 2020, over 70% of labor force have been reported to be temporarily laid off from work without pay in most of businesses in tourism, service and relevant sectors as a result of Covid-19.

In 2021, the Trade Union at all levels has made great effort to organize various activities in support of Trade Unionists and laborers amid the pandemic crisis. Although life has returned to the new normal, workers continue to face financial hardship. Therefore, this Lunar New Year, the Provincial Labor Confederation has built care plans to ensure a happy Tet for everyone. Accordingly, the Trade Union al all levels will provide funding and mobilize resources to offer New Year gifts to unionists and laborers, especially F0, and F1 individuals and those in blockaded areas and the unemployed; cooperate with authorities to have solutions to any cases of unauthorized deductions to prevent risks of strikes; and monitor closely the payment of salaries and bonuses on the occasion of Lunar New Year holiday.

Moreover, the Trade Union at all levels will boost dialogue and negotiation with businesses on improving workers' life during Tet; deploy support packages and mobilize resources for Tet celebration for unionists and employees; expand the Lunar New Year get-together program in enterprises with a large number of employees in adaption to the actual situation; provide support in terms of vehicles, grants or mobilize businesses to organize trips back home, offer train tickets to needy members and employees who wish to return home to enjoy the Lunar New Year Holiday with their families.
