In spite of great difficulties and challenges in 2021 due to Covid-19, enterprises in Khanh Hoa Province have made efforts to pay out the year-end bonuses and salaries to employees.
 
Workers at Minh Son Trading and Services Garment Company, Ltd., Cam Tan Commune, Cam Lam District are busy handling the last orders before a break for the Lunar New Year 2022. Tran Thi Kim Nga, a worker said, “In spite of Covid-9 impacts, the company has maintained operational and given us income to get through the hard time. This Lunar New Year, workers receive a bonus of VND7 million each. The Trade Union offers gifts containing candies, cooking oil, seasoning and soy sauce. We are so happy.”

Minh Son Trading and Services Garment Company, Ltd. has tried to resume operation and ensure work for about 250 people after temporary closure amid the resurgence of Covid-19. The company has also offered Lunar New Year holiday bonuses to workers. This has shown the care and sharing of the company for workers, according to Tran Thi Hai Vuong, Chairman of the Trade Union Branch of Minh Son Trading and Services Garment Company, Ltd.
 
According to Tran Hoang Ngoc Thao, Deputy Director of Rang Dong Paper Joint Stock Company, Dien Phuoc Commune, Dien Khanh District, the company had stopped working for a few months due to coronavirus. Employees are valuable assets. The company has offered employees about VND5 million each for the coming Lunar New Year, hoping they will continue staying with the company to overcome difficulties and keep progressing in 2022.
 
According to the leader of the Department of Labor, War Invalids & Social Affairs, many enterprises have provided support for employees as well as maintained holiday bonuses despite difficulties in the face of the pandemic. According to Van Dinh Tri, Deputy Director of Khanh Hoa Department of Labor, War Invalids & Social Affairs, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, manufacturing enterprises have taken many solutions to flexibly adapt to Covid-19 situation and maintained jobs and income for workers with salary paid on schedule. Many tourism and service enterprises are temporarily closed down with lay-offs or cut-backs due to the waves of Covid-19 pandemic. Employees remaining are mostly maintenance staff and those staying off work in turns. They are paid the minimum salary as regulated. Especially, 11 enterprises have asked for preferential loans to pay salaries totaling VND3.8 billion to 1,061 employees during work suspension in an effort to gradually recover production and business.
 
Besides ensuring the payment of salaries and bonuses, enterprises have offered New Year gifts to employees, especially those in need. Some enterprises have allowed employees to have a combination of a New Year holiday break and annual leave; and provided them grants to cover their travel expense back home for Tet.
 

Before, during and after Tet, the department is planning to coordinate with the Management Board of Van Phong Economic Zone and the Trade Union at all levels to strengthen labor monitoring and the payment of salaries and bonuses to employees in order to promptly solve and avoid labor disputes (if any). Enterprises are required to have plans on welcoming employees back and making workplace Covid-secure.


 

The average 2022 Lunar New Year bonus provided by enterprises is VND5.6 million/person with the highest VND170 million/person and the lowest VND500,000/person. Specifically, the average bonus is VND6.5 million /person with the highest VND42 million and the lowest VND1 million at State-owned one member limited liability companies with 100% of charter capitals; VND5.9 million/person with the highest VND51 million and the lowest VND500,000 at joint stock companies; VND6.6 million/person with the highest VND170 million and the lowest VND500,000/person at private companies; and VND3.2 million/person with the highest being VND73 million and the lowest VND500,000 at foreign-invested companies.
