Pasteur Institute Nha Trang is in charge of promoting preventive medicine and public health in 11 coastal southern central provinces; enhancing international cooperation and scientific research. In 2021, Nha Trang Pasteur Institute not only fulfilled its professional duties, especially on the frontline against the Covid-19 pandemic, but also contributed to the “All people protect the national security” campaign as well as ensured workplace security.
According to PhD. Do Thai Hung, Director of Pasteur Institute Nha Trang, in 2021, staff of Pasteur Institute Nha Trang promoted their responsibilities on the frontline against Covid-19, especially, providing support for 11 coastal southern central provinces to tackle Covid-19 and bring life to the new normal. In addition, thanks to close cooperation with public security forces and promotion of “All people protect the national security” campaign, the internal political security has been well maintained.
According to the Provincial Public Security’s Department of Construction of “All people protect the national security” campaign, Pasteur Institute Nha Trang has fully implemented the contents of the “All people protect the national security” campaign since the beginning of the year. Specifically, the Party Committee of Pasteur Institute Nha Trang issued a resolution on ensuring workplace security and development of the campaign; The institute's leaders made a plan to promote the campaign, and ask public servants and cadres to sign a collective agreement build a workplace meeting safety and security standards. On that basis, its departments and divisions implemented specific contents related to regulations on the protection of the institute; fire prevention and control; on-site security training; consolidating the self-defense team, the fire prevention and fighting team in the workplace; and implementing the model of self-defense, self-management and self-protection.
Moreover, the protection of State secrets and internal politics has always ensured with specific regulations. Scientific projects and cooperation with foreign countries; and overseas courses for staff are thoroughly researched. The workplace security has been ensured with the installment of such equipment and devices as security cameras and lights fire alarms, anti-theft devices, construction of fences, etc. No theft, fire, explosion, loss or disclosure of State secrets was reported in the workplace in 2021.
Pasteur Institute Nha Trang is on the frontline against Covid-19. During the pandemic outbreak, the institute regularly sent delegations to coastal southern central provinces to give instructions on epidemic investigation, epidemiology, treatment and isolation; took the initiative in testing and vaccination campaigns; and SARS-CoV-2 testing training. The institute tested 3,319,436 samples (11 months in 2021); distributed more than 7 million doses of vaccines; provided chemicals and other biological products for epidemic prevention and control in the 11 provinces. In addition, the institute is implementing 2 international cooperation programs and 1 State-level project on Coronavirus (Covid-19).
Thanks to the integration of the “All people protect the national security” campaign and the protection of workplace security and the fulfillment of professional duties, especially Covid-19 prevention and control, the “All people protect the national security” campaign deployed at Pasteur Institute Nha Trang has gained some important achievements and thus been awarded a certificate of merit by Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee.
