Khanh Hoa Women’s Union has built a plan to organize various practical and meaningful activities to mark the 112th International Women’s Day (March 8) and the 1982nd  anniversary of the Trung Sisters’ Uprising.

According to Nguyen Quynh Nga, Chairperson of Khanh Hoa Women’s Union, the highlight of activities in celebration of the International Women’s Day 2022 is Ao dai (traditional Vietnamese long dress) Festival. This is a practical activity on the occasion of the 13th National Congress of Women (expected to take place on March 9 - 11) and in response to the Week "Ao Dai - Vietnamese Cultural Heritage" 2022. Ao dai Festival is expected to take place at Yen Phi Park (Nha Trang City) on March 3, showcasing more than 400 Ao dai dresses in the past and at the present. The festival aims to honor the traditional Vietnamese costume, reminding women of preserving and promoting the national identity and culture; contributing to honoring the traditional dress as well as introducing the images of Vietnamese people to international friends.

Together with the Ao dai Festival, many other luminary activities include Godmother Program, supporting and taking care of children orphaned due to the Covid-19 and other causes; assisting and giving livelihoods to those affected by the Covid-19; awarding scholarships to children in need, etc. The Women’s Union has also planned to organize many meaningful activities such as commemorations, exchanges, meetings, seminars and talks to create a joyful and exciting atmosphere, encourage women to actively participate in patriotic emulation campaigns, production and business activities, contributing to the local economic recovery.

In addition, the Women’s Union at all levels is focusing resources on organizing activities to care for members and women in difficult circumstances, affected by the Covid-19 pandemic; providing support and promote the role of Godmother Program to help children losing parents to the Covid-19; connecting agencies, individuals and sponsors to take care of, nurture and support the children until the age of 18.

The Women's Union at all levels in the province has also focused on environmental protection and climate change response propaganda. Over the past time, The Women's Union from provincial to grassroots levels has simultaneously organized "The 2022 tree–planting campaign in memory of Uncle Ho" with tree cultivation and care, clean-up, roadside flower planting and waste collection, drawing the involvement of a large number of members, women and residents.

These practical activities promise to deliver humanitarian messages to a large number of women and residents, affirming the role of the Women’s Union and women in society, contributing to the promotion of gender equality and the implementation of the 2022 theme selected by the United Nations “Gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow”.
