Khanh Hoa People’s Committee has just made proposal for the repair and renovation of Tram Huong Tower located in the center of Nha Trang City to the Party Affairs Commission of the Provincial People’s Committee to make the tower a really unique destination for exhibitions of pictures and works of art in Khanh Hoa Province, introducing local history, specialties and spirituality as well.
Put into operation in 2008, after the long term use, Tram Huong Tower needs repair and innovation to further meet the purpose of a symbol of historical and cultural interest as well as a spiritual place in Khanh Hoa. The Provincial People's Committee suggested keeping the current state of structures and colors of Tram Huong Tower; using durable high-grade materials for repairs and upgrades of stairs, elevators, walls, terraces, etc. No sales services are allowed here to ensure a sacred place. Professional development training will be given to guides working at Tram Huong Tower.

According to the report by Khanh Hoa People’s Committee, the design is to create a narrative about the land, culture, people and specialties of Khanh Hoa, forming a destination of local significances, ensuring harmonious and unique beauty and strengthening the identity of the locality to introduce to visitors.
Accordingly, the basement will be upgraded to improve its functions and assure safety. It is a venue for introducing the history of the Khanh Hoa Party Committee together with a photo exhibit of Khanh Hoa people and specialties such as salanganes' nests, agar wood, the national sovereignty stele on the Spratly Island, Sea Festival, Fish Worshipping Festival, etc. The first floor is for the display of salanganes’ nest products; the second for agar wood products; the third floor for 3-D screening introducing specialties in Khanh Hoa; and the top remains as a shrine worshiping martyrs who have sacrificed their lives to the nation’s independence and unification.
The outside of Tram Huong Tower will be renovated to create aesthetic harmony throughout the building, linked with the diversification of musical and art performances at 2-4 Square to better serve local residents and visitors’ interests.
In addition, the lighting system will be enhanced at the tower and neighboring areas to add more appealing outlook to the Tram Huong Tower at night as well as create more pleasant environment for traditional art shows and salanganes' nest and agar wood art exhibits. Furthermore, the renovation and decoration will be made to the ground and the outside of architecture in harmony with the stunning beach views; combination of interior and exterior artistic lighting to make it more splendidly glistening at night.
The total cost for the repair and renovation is expected at nearly VND14.4 billion sponsored by Khanh Hoa Salanganes Nest’s Company, which is assigned for the tower management and maintenance, contributing to promoting the unique and exotic architecture. The company has proposed continuing the building management and operation after the renovation work.
