Khanh Hoa Labor Confederation has just issued a plan to celebrate the 2022 Workers' Month (May) themed “Vietnamese workers: enthusiastic, creative, responsible, safe and adaptive” with several practical activities, said Bui Thanh Binh, Chairman of Khanh Hoa Labor Confederation.
The Workers' Month is designed to promote the tradition of solidarity, creativeness, enthusiasm and responsibility of Labor Union members and workers, contributing to the socio-economic growth, especially the post-Covid-19 economic recovery.
The Workers’ Month 2022 will be celebrated jointly with the Action Month for Labor Safety and Hygiene in order to raise employers and employees’ awareness of occupational safety and health; enhance risk control and solutions to improve working conditions and health care; and reduce occupational accidents and sickness.
Khanh Hoa Labor Confederation will cooperate with the Department of Labor, War Invalids & Social Affairs to launch the Workers’ Month and the Action Month for Labor Safety and Hygiene 2022 in Nha Trang, promoting propaganda in various ways about traditions of the working class and Vietnam Trade Union as well as Covid-19 prevention and control. In addition, grants will be offered to Trade Union members and workers in housing and financial needs, suffering from occupational accidents, etc.
Besides, the Trade Union at all levels will jointly hold activities to recommend employment and training opportunities to members and workers; organize competitions on occupational competence and technical initiatives; dialogues between employers and employees on pay, bonus, social welfare and working conditions.
Particularly, the Trade Union will suggest jointly organizing employee appreciation activities, a forum on maintaining the relationship between employees and businesses; honoring and commending outstanding Trade Union members and employees in emulation campaigns, especially the program "One million initiatives, efforts to overcome difficulties, be creative, determined to contain the Covid-19 pandemic"; providing occupational safety skills, rights and responsibilities of employers and employees; talks and dialogues to share experience and occupational safety and hygiene models; contests about labor safety and hygiene; enhancing cooperation with authorities to conduct inspection and supervision on compliance with the law to protect workers’ rights, etc.
To promote the effectiveness of the Workers’ Month, the Trade Union at levels in the province will focus on the expansion of the Workers’ Month, closely following the Provincial Labor Confederation’s plan to deploy appropriate activities in their units; proactively provide consultancy for the Party Committees, authorities and specialized agencies to direct and coordinate in organizing activities to mark the Workers' Month and the Action Month for Labor Safety and Hygiene 2022; simultaneously, mobilize resources from the community and employees to improve working conditions and material and spiritual life of Trade Union members and employees, and ensure safety and health at work and Covid-19 prevention and control in production.
