Over the past years, Khanh Hoa Provincial Comrade Association at all levels has implemented various activities and campaigns in support of many children recovering from hard situations.
Enriching learning opportunities
According to Pham Ngoc Hai, Deputy Secretary of Khanh Hoa Youth Union, Vice-Chairman of Khanh Hoa Comrade Association, there are more than 100,000 young pioneers in the province. Education and propaganda have been focused with such outstanding activities as meritorious activities, visits to memorial and historical sites; contests telling about Uncle Ho’s stories; visits to policy beneficiaries’ families, study emulation campaigns, etc.
In addition, the campaign “I love my homeland’s seas and islands” has been organized educating about the national marine sovereignty in various ways such as presentation, marine display corners, public speaking contests, letters to border soldiers, marine knowledge contests and waste collection to improve awareness of labor values, social responsibilities and environmental protection as well as raise funds for the activities.
Over the past 2 years, 6,000 skill courses in football, table tennis, basket ball, shuttlecock, guitar, martial arts, informatics, foreign languages, drawing, dancing, handwriting, etc. have been organized with the attendance of more than 30,000 kids. The training has been improved to ensure meeting kids’ needs and interests.
Providing care and support for kids
The Comrade Association and Young Pioneer detachments have get involved in such charity work as financial aid programs for pupils, “kids towards the homeland’s seas and islands”, free playgrounds for kids, etc.
Moreover, the campaign for the sake of kids has been boosted, building more places for kids to have fun, develop skills, take part in musical shows, play sports and do gym. Other activities have included giving free health check-ups and gifts; and seeking resources for school repair and construction. Remarkably, Covid-19 relief programs have been held such as helping kids recover from Covid-19 impacts and facilitate online learning and develop the “1 million glasses of milk” campaign totaling VND12 billion, benefiting over 80,000 kids.
According to the Provincial Comrade Association, Covid-19 cases have appeared to be declining significantly. Therefore, many activities for kids will be resumed in the coming summer vacation by the Provincial Youth Union, Provincial Comrade Association and local authorities, focusing on age-appropriate recreational activities, drowning prevention and control, kid abuse prevention; mental and physical well-being development; the 15th congress summer camp, the journey “Following the footsteps of heroes”; Comrade task training and revision for a good start of the new school year.
