Several practical activities in response to the Workers' Month 2022 are being held by the Trade Union at all levels in Khanh Hoa Province, contributing to improving care for workers and creating a harmonious and productive working relationship in an effort to boost post-Covid recovery.
Sharing with workers in need
Nguyen Thi My Han, a worker at Komega-X Co.Ltd died in an accident on the way home from work, leaving her 4-year-old son behind. Her husband named Tran Dinh Hiep plays the role as Mom and Dad to take care of the little child. Their plan to build a new house for her family had to be put on hold. In order to share difficulties and great grief, the Provincial Trade Union of Industrial and Economic Zones cooperated with the Provincial Labor Confederation to give an aid worth VND2 million to support the family.
In addition, the Trade Union of Industrial and Economic Zones also offered 250 gifts totaling nearly VND100 million to workers in need and affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. Nguyen Thi Thu Suong, a worker of Truong Thinh Co., Ltd. said, “I am very happy and grateful for the Trade Union’s care and support. This is the motivation for me to overcome difficulties and to move forward in life.”
Nha Trang City Labor Confederation has recently offered 190 gifts totaling VND95 million to workers. Besides the aid, the Labor Confederation also requested grassroots Trade Unions to improve care and working conditions and ensure benefits for workers.
The Workers’ Month is the high peak period for the protection of the interests of its members and care for workers in need. Khanh Hoa Labor Confederation has donated 1,000 gifts worth VND500,000 each to members and workers; VND525 million grants for house repair and construction to 12 families. The Trade Union at all levels has donated and mobilized donations from businesses to provide aid to those who need it the most in the Workers’ Month, according to Bui Thanh Binh, Chairman of Khanh Hoa Labor Confederation.

Moreover, health care counseling and legal advice have been provided. In Suoi Dau Industrial Zone, the Trade Union has cooperated with the health care sector to give health care advice before, during and after Covid-19 infection to more than 13,000 workers. Local authorities have also publicized the latest labor laws on medical and social insurance, work shifts, occupational accidents, pregnancy and postpartum periods, etc.
Le Van Khanh, a worker at Rapexco Dai Nam Company, Ltd. said, “Besides counseling, they give clear answers to our questions, helping us understand more about labor legal rights and benefits. I hope the counseling will be provided more regularly to get workers informed of the latest regulations.”
Meaningful employee appreciation activities have been proposed by the Trade Union and organized in collaboration with enterprises. Hygiene and occupational safety inspection and supervision have been frequently ensured. The Trade Union at all levels has also launched and promoted emulation movements. Vo Quang, Chairman of the Grassroots Trade Union of Long Sinh Co., Ltd. said: "The company has launched a peak emulation campaign in production and business, contributing to improving productivity”.
Furthermore, the program “1 million initiatives, efforts to overcome difficulties, be creative, determined to contain the Covid-19 pandemic" has helped inspire innovations at work, bringing benefits to businesses, workers and the society as well. Sporting and musical activities have also been organized to help members and workers happier and more comfortable during their work life.
