Sewing the seed
After the 2020 flooding, Nguyen Vi Nhat, Phuoc Hai Ward, Nha Trang City together with his kid donated to help residents adversely affected in Quang Binh Province. Nguyen Vi Nhat often joins charity work by donating notebooks, pens and cash to children in disadvantage areas.
With such activities, he hopes his child will understand more about the values of life, become more confident, responsible, more matured in thinking and know to share with the less unfortunate.

Similarly, Le Kim Thu, Vinh Hai Ward, Nha Trang City always engages her kid in her volunteering, offering gifts and rice to poor patients. Especially on full moon days or on the first days, she often takes her kid on charity trips to give rice to severe patients at Khanh Hoa General Hospital. For her, the charity means a lot as it can help those who need it the most.
“I can have a chance to talk to them and understand their sufferings. Our children will learn the good deeds of giving. “I want my kid to learn how to give and share with others. I am so excited and willing to join more charity activities,” she added.

To encourage kids’ engagement in charity activities, parents try to make their first charity trip joined by kids more impressive. Seeing her father taking part in charity work, Nguyen Vi Tue Nha, 7/1 Class, Vo Van Ky Junior High School is very willing to help her dad wrap gifts and join volunteering activities. She said, “My dad and I together with many others planned to go 2 schools, namely Me Linh Junior High School and Dai Lanh Primary School in Van Ninh District to offer books, notebooks and pens to children in need on June 18.”
Nguyen Le Minh Ngoc, Class 9/1, Thai Nguyen Junior High School has joined his parents’ charity trips to offer gifts to sick and old people still struggling to earn a living. “Children do small tasks dependent on their abilities and strength. I hope when growing up, I can do many things to help the less unfortunate.”
12-year-old Nguyen Duy Bao said, "When the Covid-19 subsided, my mum and I prepared some gifts for students in remote schools in Van Ninh, Ninh Hoa and Dien Khanh at weekends. I find the trip really interesting and meaningful. I not only know about the wider world but also understand that there are still many people less fortunate in need of assistance.”
