The 27th Khanh Hoa Computing Contest for Young Talents held by Khanh Hoa Youth Union in association with Khanh Hoa Department of Education & Training and Nha Trang University has announced the winners who will advance to the National Computing Contest for Young Talents.

According to the organizers, the quality of candidates is higher compared with previous years. Pham Thi Thu Thuy, Chief of the Faculty of Information Technology, Nha Trang University, a member of the jury said, “This year, the test for primary school candidates was longer and more difficult, but many still got high scores with two scoring  the maximum. Therefore the prize category had to be changed. For the group of senior high schools, some students used Python, which has not been taught at school, to solve math problems. That means they had spent much time learning about it by themselves. Working as a member of the organizing board and the jury, I find some improvements in the contest over years.”

Khanh Hoa Computing Contest for Young Talents has continued providing an opportunity for students to learn and enjoy. Nguyen Phuc Khang, a student at Nguyen Van Troi High School, Nha Trang City, said, “Since I was at junior high school, I have attended the Computing Contest for Young Talents at city and province-level for several times. The Computing Contest for Young Talents is very practical. The tests have varied over years, promoting interest and inspiring motivations among candidates.

Tran Nguyen Dang Duong (Thai Nguyen Junior High School, Nha Trang) said, “In previous years, I participated in the young computer contest and won prizes. This is an opportunity for me to try and satisfy my passion for informatics; as well as widen my knowledge and skills.”

Many candidates from Nha Trang City showed their competence as they won the first prizes in all groups. In order to improve the quality of the Computing Contest for Young Talents, Khanh Hoa Youth Union will direct its affiliations of districts and towns to continue creating more playgrounds in the IT-driven world, said Pham Ngoc Hai, Deputy Secretary of Khanh Hoa Youth Union.

5 first, 7 second, 9 third and 11 consolidation prizes were awarded. The top 12 winners advanced to the National 28th Computing Contest for Young Talents.
