Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee has assigned the Department of Labor, War Invalids & Social Affairs to preside over the celebration of Moon Festival for children, according to Nguyen Thanh Son, Deputy Director of the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs.
Under the Provincial People's Committee’s direction, the Department of Labor, War Invalids & Social Affairs has chaired and coordinated with relevant departments, agencies and localities to develop and implement a plan to celebrate the Moon Festival for children in the province.
Based on the guidance of the Ministry of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs; the Provincial People's Committee and actual situations, the Department of Labor, War Invalids & Social Affairs has promptly issued documents guiding Divisions of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs of districts and towns to coordinate with functional agencies at the same level to prepare necessary conditions for the practical, effective and safe celebration of Moon Festival for children.
In addition, the department has developed a plan to mobilize businesses and benefactors to offer gifts and award scholarships to disadvantaged children with good academic achievements, children in special circumstances, from poor households, in ethnic minority areas, in mountainous areas, on islands, children suffering from serious diseases requiring long-term treatment, etc. The Department has also cooperated with the Provincial Youth Union and Khanh Vinh District People's Committee to build a plan for children to welcome the Moon Festival 2022 in Khanh Vinh District.
To assure all kids enjoy a happy Moon Festival, the Department has cooperated with local agencies, departments and sponsors to organize numerous practical and meaningful activities such as cooperating with the Provincial Youth Union to offer 600 gifts to ethnic minority kids at Khanh Vinh Town Primary School in Khanh Vinh District; a lantern-making competition themed “Compassionate moon”, Moon feast decoration, “Compassionate moon journey" in Ninh Dao Village in Van Thanh Commune, Van Ninh District; Moon Festival night with gifts offered to 1,000 orphans at orphanages and social support centers, providing opportunities for kids to take part in healthy cultural activities, contributing to promoting physical and mental well-being.
