The Association of Admirers of Dr. Alexandre Yersin was founded on November 11, 1992. For 3 decades following the steps of Dr. Alexandre Yersin, his admirers have made constant effort to promote his brilliant symbol of the kind heart and soul to the younger generations.
During his life, he provided care for residents in Xom Con Nha Trang by giving free health check-ups, medications and weather warnings for safe fishing voyages and providing villagers shelter during storms. With his great kindness and beneficence, the scientist is loved as a family member by Vietnamese people. The Association of Admirers of Dr. Alexandre Yersin was voluntarily founded to commemorate and honor the world-famous scientist’s contribution.

For over 30 years of construction and development, the Association of Admirers of Dr. Alexandre Yersin has made sustained attempt to promote the contribution of Dr. Alexandre Yersin to the mankind, especially his kindness and generosity towards residents in Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa. The association has received much support from individuals and organizations at home and abroad to organize several meaningful activities to promote the kind spirit and soul of A.Yersin.
Specifically, in 1993, the A.Yersin’s charity clinic was opened, providing free health check-ups and medications for thousands of poor patients. Every year, the association presents study promotion scholarships and awards to Yersin Junior High School in Suoi Cat Commune, Cam Lam District and Yersin Nha Trang Junior High School. The association has also donated books, notebooks and bikes to pupils in remote areas; and funded vocational training for 43 children with disabilities. The association has given the natural disaster relief nationwide; offered gifts to orphanages and those in need. Members of the association has distributed rice and necessities to residents struggling due to Covid-19 in Ninh Phuoc Commune, Ninh Hoa Town; Dien Tan Commune, Dien Khanh District; offered food to Russian residents in Nha Trang City during the pandemic.
For several years, the association has made effort to promote his kindness to all people at home and abroad. The association has fulfilled foreign affairs and got connected to many international individuals and organizations such as descendant Minsen; Anna Owhadi Richardson, d’Adaly Montpellier Charity Society (France) and Swiss Association of Admirers of Dr. Alexandre Yersin in order to promote the values of his significant contributions.
The association has cooperated with television stations at home and abroad to produce films and publish books in 2 languages Vietnamese and French about A.Yersin; held many national and international workshops with many presentations and speeches praising the remarkable life and career of the scientist. Furthermore, the Association of Admirers of Dr. Alexandre Yersin has contributed some documents about the life and contributions of Dr. Alexandre Yersin to the Government of Da Lat City, Lam Dong Province and Hanoi Medical University for exhibition and introduction to residents, visitors and students.
Especially, the Association of Admirers of Dr. Alexandre Yersin has brought collections of stamps depicting his life to international exhibitions; sent a sheet of stamps about Dr. Alexandre Yersin’s biography as a souvenir presented by the State President’s Office to Ignazio Cassis, Vice-President, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Switzerland on his visit to Vietnam in August 2021. Members of the Association of Admirers of Dr. Alexandre Yersin feel proud to follow and promote the outpouring of his kindness and community spirit, according to Dong Luong Son, Chairman of Association of Admirers of Dr. Alexandre Yersin.
