On September 13, the Institute of Oceanography held International Scientific Conference Bien Dong (East Sea) 2022 themed “Century of Ocean Science for the future we want” on the occasion of the 100th foundation anniversary of the Institute of Oceanography (September 14,1922 - 2022).
The event was attended by Assoc. Prof. PhD. Nguyen Tac An, Vice-President of the Association of Science and Technology on Viet Nam Sea, former Director of Institute of Oceanography; Assoc. Prof. PhD. Nguyen Chu Hoi, Vice-Chairman of the Vietnam Fishery Association; and Assoc. Prof. PhD. Vo Sy Tuan, former Director of Institute of Oceanography together with more than 200 scientists at home and abroad.

The conference sessions included Marine Biodiversity and Resources; Marine Geology and Chemistry; Natural Hazards and Environmental Risks, including Harmful Algal Blooms; Oceanographic Processes and Marine Engineering; and Marine Conservation and Management, etc.
