With diversification in teaching methods, the centers have met the needs of learners of different age groups. Many centers have actively coordinated with schools to organize extracurricular educational activities, contributing to improving life skills education at school.
Enhancing management
According to Le Dinh Thuan, Vice-Director of Khanh Hoa Department of Education & Training, Khanh Hoa Department of Education & Training, life skills education is an important content in the 2018 General Education Curricula. The Department has requested schools to strengthen life skills education in various suitable forms. Schools are allowed to cooperate with licensed life skills centers to implement the educational program.
Every year, the Department meets with centers to assess the situations and promptly solve problems to ensure healthy and equal educational environment in accordance with the Department of Education and Training’s provisions and the law. The Department has also required newly established centers to quickly stabilize operation and step by step improve the quality of teaching and learning.
According to regulations, life skills education centers, in addition to applying their business to the Department of Planning and Investment, must also register with the Department of Education and Training for educational activities to be licensed.
The Department of Education and Training will conduct an inspection of physical facilities, fire prevention and fighting safety conditions, teaching staff, textbooks, teaching materials pursuant to the Ministry of Education and Training’s Circular No. 04 2014 promulgating and regulating the management of life skills extracurricular activities. Only qualified centers are allowed to operate. 2 years prior to the expiration, the centers must report the Department of Education and Training for inspection to get licenses renewed. "In the coming time, the department will strengthen coordination with localities to enhance life skill education assessment and inspection," said Le Dinh Thuan.
