The project on planting trees on Vo Nguyen Giap Street medians is being accelerated to be complete on December 31.
Several work items remaining
According to Khanh Hoa Agriculture and Rural Development Project Management Board, the road-bed work has been completed. The construction of roadside ditches is 90% complete (in Dien Khanh and 5 sections in Nha Trang City).
The work on median and roadside plantings is over 81% complete in Dien Khanh District and approximately 40% in Nha Trang City. The foundation of highlights with reinforced concrete piles with a diameter of 300mm has been completed at the beginning and the end of the street. The symbols are being installed.
According to Quach Thanh Son, Director of Khanh Hoa Agriculture and Rural Development Project Management Board, the project has basically met the progress. The investor is filling with fertile soil and piloting the cultivation of carpet grass and oil palm.

Work progress accelerated
According to the progress directed by the Provincial People's Committee, the tree planting must be completed by this year-end. Therefore, Khanh Hoa Agriculture and Rural Development Project Management Board has developed a plan to implement the remaining work. Specifically, the work on road-bed and drainage ditches is schduled to be completed on November 30; soil preparation for planting trees before November 30; cultivation of decorative plants before December 31; construction of highlights before December 20. The electricity and water supply work will be carried out at the same tome with the tree planting. The installment of symbols will be put into operation before December 15.
At the recent meeting regarding the progress of median planting on Vo Nguyen Giap Street with local departments and agencies, Nguyen Anh Tuan, Vice-Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee mentioned much remaining workload, especially tree cultivation and roadbed work. Therefore, the investor must request the contractor to mobilize human resources and machinery to speed up the progress. Regarding capitals, the board needs to review the construction progress and payment settlements for disbursement and report to the Department of Planning and Investment soon for any adjustment when needed. As soon as receiving the investor’s application for additional tanks and sprinklers, the Department of Construction must assess it before November 14. The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development is responsible for monitoring and accelerating the tree cultivation process.
In July 2021, Khanh Hoa Provincial People’s Committee approved the project on planting trees on Vo Nguyen Giap Street median to create green space on the main access to the city center. The project started in February 2022 with a total capital of nearly VND85 billion. According to the contract, the project is due to be completed and put into operation in the 2nd quarter of 2022.
