Social service establishments in Khanh Hoa Province have focused on improving care for and management of the vulnerable, helping them overcome inferiority complex and feel secure in a safe, decent and loving home.
Thoughtful care
Over 150 old, disabled people and orphans are currently in the care of Khanh Hoa Provincial Social Service Center. All of the vulnerable people are given periodical medical examination and intensive care and treatment to help detect early-stage diseases and promote their wellbeing.

In 2022, the center has taken 400 people to hospitals for medical treatment; 100% of orphan have accessed education. Kids with disabilities can study right at the center. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Nguyen, an orphan at the center said, “I receive good care and teaching at the center. Besides, the center has also organized several interesting activities and picnics, providing us essential lifeskills.”
Apart from benefits and financial support for the vulnerable, the center has mobilized businesses and benefactors to provide additional necessities and funding; organize therapeutic activities with gardening and farming, etc.
Ninh Hoa Town Social Service Center is taking care of 16 vulnerable and 2 cases subject to urgent protection. Besides assuring meals, the center conducts health screening for iron deficiency anemia every month to have proper care. 100% of children have access to education and life-skill training at the center. Everyday, besides reading time, cultural and sporting activities and folk games are also organized. Social consultancy is also provided for individuals, groups and the community. In 2022, the center has provided consultancy for 60 people.
Improving support and care quality
Dang Thi Thuy Tien, Director of Khanh Hoa Social Service Center says, the center provides assistance for the vulnerable, helping them to overcome barriers and have a secure and stable life. In the coming time, the center will continue improving operation quality, especially care and protection. On the occasion of the coming Lunar New Year, the center will support them to have a warm and fulfilled festive season. The center hopes the Provincial People’s Committee would implement the protect to repair, upgrade the center facilities with more staffing.
Moreover, social service establishments have focused on care for vulnerable groups together with charity activities to improve their mental and material life.
There are 6 public social service facilities and 13 non-public ones, providing care for 1,000 in need. Khanh Hoa Social Service Center, Ninh Hoa Town Social Service and Social Work Center; the Center for Social Service, Care and Rehabilitation of people with mental disorders are under direct direction and management of the Department of Labor, War Invalids & Social Affairs.
According to Ta Hong Quang, Director of Khanh Hoa Department of Labor, War Invalids & Social Affairs, the centers have fulfilled their management of and care for the entitled and activities to improve their spiritual and material life. The center has also provided care skills training for staff. In the coming time, social service facilities are required to continue with innovations to better meet nursing and care needs.
