The Vietnam Maritime Rescue Cooperation Center (VNMRCC) brought a Filipino crew named Jamandron Mafred Tagle born in 1986 on Berge Daisen (registered in Panama) to Nha Trang VNMRCC Port in Phuoc Dong Commune, Nha Trang City for emergency medical aid on December 6.
Earlier on the same day, VNMRCC had received SOS signals from the a bulk carrier on its way from Japan to Singapore. The captain immediately called for help when Jamandron Mafred Tagle got seriously injured in his right hand during work when the ship was approximately 123 nautical miles off the coast of Nha Trang City.
MRCC immediately sent the ship SAR-272 to the scene to launch the rescue operation, giving first aid on-board and bringing the crew ashore safely for medical treatment.
Reportedly, within a month, Nha Trang MRCC has conducted 3 rescue operations, providing 4 foreign crew of different nationalities access to emergency medical treatment ashore.
