Tien Phong Newspaper in association with Khanh Hoa Steering Board for Blood Donation and the Navy Academy held the 15th "Red Sunday" 2023 on January 7.

Present at the event were Nguyen Hai Ninh, Central Party Committee Member, Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee; Pham Thi Xuan Trang, Vice-Chairperson of the Provincial People's Council; and Dinh Van Thieu, Vice-Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

Themed “Donate blood, save lives. Your life and my life”, the event draw the participation of more than 700 cadres and students of the Navy Academy, giving more than 600 units of blood.

Reportedly, the program is scheduled to take place in 40 provinces and cities nationwide from November 2022 to February 2023 with 45.000 - 50.000 units of blood expected to be given to meet the demand for blood transfusion in medical treatment and emergences before and after the Lunar New Year. This is the 9th time the event Khanh Hoa has joined the event with more than 5,000 units of blood collected so far.

Speaking at the event, Dinh Van Thieu appreciated the blood donors at the Navy Academy as well as the contribution of other armed forces based in Khanh Hoa Province to the blood donation campaign; and hoped that the blood donation campaign would continue expanding to ensure sufficient supply of blood for use wherever and whenever it is needed to save life.

On this occasion, the organizing board awarded recognition plaque of Red Sunday and greeting flowers to the Provincial Steering Board for Blood Donation. The  Steering Board for Blood Donation presented gifts to 5 groups and 5 individuals for their excellent contribution to the blood donation campaign.
