Tran Phu Street and Pham Van Dong Street in Nha Trang City are most packed with local and international tourists. The streets have been being upgraded since 2022 to further promote the destination of Nha Trang City.
Sidewalks upgraded
In recent years, many changes have been seen along the beach parks and streets of Tran Phu and Pham Van Dong. Thanks to the urban innovation projects, beach parks, streets and irrigation systems are being improved together with more stunning green space, adding to the attraction of Nha Trang beach city.
In order to ensure environmental sanitation, add beautiful and neat appearance to the city landscaping to better serve residents and visitors, in 2022, Nha Trang City People's Committee decided to invest in upgrading the sidewalks on the east side of Tran Phu Street, including 2 sections: From Nguyen Binh Khiem Street to Biet Thu Street (with a funding of more than VND14.2 billion) and from Biet Thu Street to Hoang Dieu Street (more than VND12.5 billion).
Accordingly, the sidewalks are paved with granite, 4m wide from Nguyen Binh Khiem Street to Tram Huong Tower; 8.6m wide at Square 2-4. The sidewalks are from 3.7m to 4.8m wide from Biet Thu Street to Hoang Dieu Street.
The work on the sidewalks includes a 60cm-wide disability walkway and curbs together with renovating existing tree holes; relocating and replacing old coconut trees with new ones; renovating existing drainage systems and electrical cable boxes.
Nha Trang City becomes more beautiful
The sidewalk of Tran Phu Street, the section from Biet Thu Street to Tram Huong Tower, has been re-paved together with tree hole innovation and trash collection to add to the attraction of the city center.
A tourist named Dinh Tien Tuong and his family traveled to Nha Trang City from Da Nang City 2 years ago. He commented there has been much innovation in the beach area, the park and the sidewalk. Tram Huong Tower has also been repaired and innovated with more green space to make Nha Trang more beautiful. His family has taken a lot of photos here and posted on mass media.
Nguyen Van Cuong, Chief of Nha Trang City Technical Planning Office, Board for Management of Public Services said that the management board has completed the upgrading of the sidewalk on the east side of Tran Phu Street, the section from Nguyen Binh Khiem Street to Tram Huong Tower, and is continuing with the section from Biet Thu Street to Hoang Dieu Street. During the construction, the management board has complied with the construction permit issued by the Department of Transport; and directed the construction unit to put up warning signs at construction sites to ensure safety for travelers.
Tran Phu Street is always crowded with vehicles, so the construction surely has a significant effect on the operational performance of the street leading to travel obstruction. We apologize for any inconveniences caused during the urban innovation and sidewalk upgrading project. The process is being accelerated and the work is scheduled to finish before May 2023 to serve Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa Sea Festival in June 2023.
