In early 2023, the labor market in Khanh Hoa Province has seen optimistic signals when 98% of workers have returned to work after the Lunar New Year holiday. Besides, firms are recruiting more personnel to meet the increase in business and production from the start of a new year.


Many job vacancies available


In late 2022, affected by the global economic downturn, many exporting firms reduced their production and thus made cut-backs. However, with their efforts, they have quickly come up with many solutions to resume operation creating jobs and income for employees and seeking new business partners. The beginning of 2023 has seen labor market recovery with an increase in sales. Workers are excited to return to work after the Tet holiday. In particular, many enterprises have also expanded their production and business scale and recruited more personnel.

The Branch of Sinnika Vietnam Co., Ltd - KNIT Nha Trang Garment Export Factory (Vinh Phuong Commune, Nha Trang City) has more than 200 vacancies in garment. The company recruits mainly unskilled labor with priority given to the experienced. The starting salary is VND6.5 million or higher and the company has committed to fully implementing labor regimes and policies.


In the field of seafood processing for export, numerous enterprises have registered to recruit labor. Hai Vuong Co., Ltd is in need of additional 300 unskilled workers with a salary of more than VND9 million. Hyundai Vietnam Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. has set a target to build 13 new ships, including 4 oil tankers with a tonnage of 110,000 tons with an expected revenue of about USD 550 million in 2023. To achieve the target, the company is recruiting 600 more workers for painting, welding, designing ships and conducting marine quality management with a starting salary of VND5 million or higher.


Boosting demand and supply link


According  to Chu Van Cong, Director of the Provincial Job Center, after the Lunar New Year, the center has received recruitment announcements from dozens of businesses with nearly 2,000 vacancies. Currently, recruitment demand is on still on the increase, which is believed to be an optimistic signal for the labor market in the province. In particular, by the end of 2022, nearly 2,000 newly registered businesses and more than 1,000 businesses resumed operation in the province.


Notably, the hospitability sector has recovered and thrived thanks to the Government’s policies open to tourism, attracting a large number of local and international visitors. To meet the labor demand, the center has implemented plans to provide job link between job-seekers and enterprises. Specially, the center will organize a job fair in Ninh Hoa Town on February 15.


According to Ta Hong Quang, Director of Khanh Hoa Department of Labor, War Invalids & Social Affairs, Developing the labor market and creating sustainable work are essential to achieve the goal of sustainable poverty reduction. Therefore, the goal for 2023 is to create additional 11,500 jobs, focusing solutions to effectively develop the project "Job creation in the province in the period of 2021 - 2025".


They include enhancing job creation through solutions to promote economic growth; improving the efficiency of job fairs, employment loans from the provincial budget entrusted through the Provincial Bank for Social Policies, and the quality of vocational training associated with job creation; expanding overseas job propaganda; supporting job-seekers to get noticed and hired, etc.

 


According to Khanh Hoa Provincial Job Center, in the first quarter of 2023, the labor demand is mostly in the sectors of accommodation, food service; processing, creation and assistance service. Required qualifications are forecast to be 6.45% with bachelor’s degrees or higher,  5.23% with Associate's Degrees, 11.51% with vocational intermediate education, 17.82% with primary vocational education and 58.99% unskilled labor.
