Excited to get back to work after Tet
During the first days of the Lunar New Year, the working environment has returned to normal as before Tet at Sao Viet Cashew Processing Company Limited (Van Ninh District). More than 500 are busy with the first sales of the year. A worker named Le Thi Hong said, “I have been working here for 6 years. The salary and insurance regimes are fully implemented. Especially, during Tet holiday, the company offered us a year-end bonus worth an extra one-month salary and gifts. The Trade Union also regularly motivates workers and gives Tet gifts to members. The company's leader also held a New Year meeting and offered us lucky money on the first day back to work."
Sao Viet Cashew Processing Company focuses on ensuring work opportunities and benefit policies for workers to retain employees. After Tet, 100% of workers returned to work on January 30 or the 9th day of the Lunar New Year. In the coming, the company will continue expanding the market to ensuring work and benefits for workers, according to Le Dinh Nhat Tan, Director of Sao Viet Cashew Processing Company.
More than 3,000 of Hyundai Vietnam Shipbuilding Co., Ltd have got back to work after the festive break. According to Nguyen Thai Vu, Vice-Chairman of the Trade Union, in 2022, the company leaders took several measures to seek business partners to ensure work and income for workers. The company offered a bonus, over VND19 million/person, in addition to salaries on the occasion of the Lunar New Year to workers for their hard work and dedication. The benefit policies have helped increase employee retention.
A worker named Nguyen Thi Thao said, in 2022, the company made cut-backs when there was not enough work. However, since the end of the year, there has been an increase in business. Workers feel excited to get back to work. Tin Thinh Company, Suoi Dau Industrial Zone, Cam Lam District have seen no job-hoppers with all staff already back to work.
Caring for workers
According to Bui Hoai Nam, Chairman of the Provincial Labor Confederation, by January 30, most businesses with Trade Unions started operation after Tet; 100% of Trade Union members and employees returned to work. On the first day back to work, 70% businesses offered lucky money ranging from VND500,000 to 50,000 to their staff.
Many firms offered transport assistance to take workers home to celebrate Tet and return back to work; provided grants to cover their travel expense back home for Tet. Besides, the Trade Union at all levels has collected employees’ expectations and aspirations when back to work and mobilized employees to return to the company after the Tet holiday. Especially, the Trade Union at all levels spent nearly VND50 billion to care for members and employees, ensuring all feel safer and more secure at work and have a happy new year.
According to Van Dinh Tri, Deputy Director of Khanh Hoa Department of Labor, War Invalids & Social Affairs, more than 95% of employees have come back to work after the Lunar New Year’s holiday. The work market has remained stable and businesses have well implemented benefit policies for workers. In 2023, production and business have shown much revival and growth with good signal for stable work and income. The Department has directed functional agencies and localities to closely assess the labor market to promptly provide link in terms of human resources,.
