The urban development program in Khanh Hoa Province for the period of 2021-2025 and vision to 2030 has achieved encouraging results. In the coming years, the province will strive to complete its full coverage planning, appeal investment, accelerate and improve the urbanization quality to reach the goal that Khanh Hoa will become a centrally-governed city by 2030.
Remarkable achievements
Nha Trang City has completed the planning scheme of nine 1/500 scale detailed construction planning projects. The city is submitting the adjustment of the 1/2000 detailed construction planning of Hon Nghe area (Vinh Ngoc Commune) for appraisal. Besides, Nha Trang City has completed construction investment projects in the field of technical infrastructures and continued developing construction investment projects on urban infrastructures.
Other localities are making coverage planning to create favorable conditions for socio-economic development and investment appeal; reviewing and adjusting the Urban Development Program to suit the specific urban development and orientation.

Major planning projects of the province have been basically completed and submitted to competent authorities for appraisal and approval. The Provincial People's Committee has approved the Land Use Plan to 2030 and the Land Use Plan for the first year of the planning period. Over the past time, the Provincial People's Committee has directed the adjustment and integration of transport planning into the provincial planning to ensure the synchronization and connection between the transport planning and other planning; and coordinated with the Ministry of Transport to make the road network planning for the period of 2021 - 2030, vision to 2050 with national highways and motorways running through the province.
Tran Nam Binh, Director of the Department of Construction said that through the implementation process, the province's urbanization rate has increased rapidly, resulting from socio-economic development, especially thanks to infrastructure investment and urban development projects. Urban areas in the province have been renovated, upgraded and developed towards civilization and modernity.
Up to now, the urban infrastructures has been invested in synchronously and the urban space has gradually expanded in accordance with the local planning and the development. Khanh Hoa has met standards of social infrastructures in urban areas, urban landscape architectures, infrastructure development and landscape architectures in suburban areas.

Urbanization quality improves
The Provincial People's Committee has recently approved the outline of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Urban Development Program to 2030 with a vision to 2045. The provincial urban development outline is consistent with the orientation goals stated in the Resolution No. 09 by the Ministry of Politics on construction and development of Khanh Hoa Province to 2030 vision to 2045, defining that Khanh Hoa will become a centrally-governed city by 2030. With the target of becoming a type I urban area in 2029, Khanh Hoa will have Cam Lam airport urban area in 2025 with the urbanization rate of 65%; a population of nearly 1.3 million, including 638,000 city inhabitants. In 2030, the province is expected to have Ninh Hoa industrial town with an urbanization rate of 70%; population of more than 1.3 million, including 723,000 urban residents.
In the coming time, Khanh Hoa will boost urbanization in a sustainable way in adaption to climate change and sea-level rise; develop urban infrastructures synchronously, especially framework technical infrastructures and essential social infrastructures; ensure the urban economy grows rapidly, efficiently and sustainably; life in urban areas and health care improves; modern cultural institutions is linked with national traditions, etc., according to Nguyen Tan Tuan, Deputy Secretary of Khanh Hoa Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee.
