The second Miss Vietnam World pageant is planned to take place at Vinpearl Land in Nha Trang from August 10 to 21, 2010. The winner will be awarded a crown and VND500 million.
Under the permission of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Khanh Hoa Province People’s Committee and Vinpearlland Tourism Joint Stock Company on April 19 held a press conference in Hanoi to launch this beauty contest officially.
The contest aims to honor soul, intelligence and beauty of women of Vietnamese origin, advertise Vietnam’s image abroad and affirm the Party and the State’s great national unity policy and overseas Vietnamese policy. This is one of activities to welcome 1000 years of Thang Long – Hanoi.

This event now is under a very careful preparation. The organization board also plans to equip contestants who are selected for the final round with knowledge about 1000 years of Thang Long – Hanoi. Vice president of Vincom Corporation Le Khac Hiep confirmed that questions for Final Answer may ask about 1000 years of Thang Long – Hanoi in order that Vietnamese beauties can learn about this significant event of the country.
Chairman of Management Board of Vinpearlland Tourism Joint Stock Company Nguyen Trong Hien said, “With its experience in organizing large-scale beauty contest and great effort, Vinpearl Land will host Miss Vietnam World 2010 pageant successfully and impressively, making it an outstanding event in the occasion of 1000 years of Thang Long – Hanoi.”
From April 25, the organisation board will start receiving files of contestants who are girls of Vietnamese origin in the age of 18 - 27, can speak Vietnamese and has an education level of high-school graduation and over and a height of 1m62 and more.
The qualifying round will be held in middle May in five places, namely Tuyen Quang, Hanoi, Hue, Ho Chi Minh City and Can Tho for contestants from Vietnam and that for overseas Vietnamese contestants will be organized in four continents in June. Contestants living in the American region will compete in the US, and those from Europe will gather in the UK. Russia will be the venue for beauties from the former Soviet Union countries and the Republic of Korea for those living in Asian countries.
The final round will take place at Vinpearl Land tourist area, Nha Trang from August 10 to 21.
The winner will be awarded a crown and VND500 million while the first runner and the second runner will be granted VND300 million and VND200 million, respectively. There also will be ten auxiliary awards for other excelent contestants.
