Minh Long Tay Son Martial Arts Club, one of places for the practice of martial arts in Nha Trang, still upholds quintessence of Vietnamese traditional martial arts.

Established at Nha Trang Culture Art and Tourism College in 2005 by martial arts instructor Le Van Chinh, Minh Long Tay Son Martial Arts Club has only over 40 students. It was the difficult time of the club when most practicers chose Taekwondo, Karatedo and Judo instead of Vietnamese traditional martial arts.

However, after 2 years, the club attracted a stable number of students. Now it has moved to Vinh Hoa 1 Primary School, located at an alley on Sao Bien Street, Vinh Hai Ward, Nha Trang. Additionally, it has two branches, one at Vinh Hoa Ward People’s Committee and the other at Dien Khanh District Sports Center.

Beside this, Minh Long Tay Son Martial Arts Club supplies a number of athletes for Nha Trang Traditional Martial Arts Branch and Khanh Hoa Traditional Martial Arts Association to compete at provincial and national tournaments. The club now has one athlete at veteran level and three first-degree athletes. Its instruction board includes two martial arts instructors at national level, two standard instructors, two national sixteenth-degree athletes and two national fifteenth-degree ones. Most of the athletes are in the age of 15 - 25 and studying at colleges and universities in the province. They have attained a lot of achievement in national as well as international tournaments. Specifically, in 2009, the club’s athletes won one gold medal, two silvers and four bronzes at the National Traditional Martial Arts Tournament. Recently, they also won two bronzes at the Sixth National Sports Festival.

Obviously, Minh Long Tay Son Martial Arts Club is not only a place for martial arts practice but a cradle of martial arts talents for Khanh Hoa Province.

Annually, the club organizes meetings with Minh Long Tay Son Martial Arts Association in France in order to exchange experience and develop Vietnamese martial arts spirit worldwide.
