Hundreds of actors, actresses and athletes of various ethnic groups, including Kinh, Raglai, E De, Tay, T’ring, Hoa, Ko ho living in Khanh Hoa Province gathered at the Vietnamese Ethnic Group Cultural Festival (April 19) held in Khanh Vinh District on April 18-20.
The animated event featured traditional cultural characteristics helping promote mutual understanding and solidarity among ethnic groups.
The event drew the participation of over 400 artisans, actors, actresses and athletes from the districts of Khanh Son, Khanh Vinh, Cam Lam, Ninh Hoa Town, Cam Ranh City and Nha Trang City.
The event attracted many people of all walks. Y Thanh, a man of Ede ethnic group, Ninh Tay Commune, Ninh Hoa said, "Entering the competitions gives me a chance to get acquainted with many new friends, therefore it helps enhance the friendship among ethnic groups. I hope I could attend the festival next year."
Many traditional cultural activities and folk games were organized such as crossbow shooting, tug- of- war, cross-country running, etc.
Besides sporting events, a photo exhibition themed "The beauty of the land of aloe wood" added attraction to the festival.
Moreover, musical shows performed by actors and actresses of various ethnic groups featured the beauty of the landscape, culture, art and people of ethnic groups residing in Khanh Hoa Province contributing to preservation and promotion ethnic cultural identity.
The event also celebrated the 65th anniversary of the day President Ho Chi Minh sent a letter to the Congress of Southern Ethnic Minority Groups in Pleiku on April 19, 1947.
The festival aimed to honor the cultures of Vietnamese ethnic groups and boost cultural exchange and national unity among ethnic minorities in Vietnam.
