Park
is built up on the seaside near Cai river mouth of Nha Trang, overlooking Xom Con where the doctor used to live. The park is good looking with a water fountain, benches, flower trellises and flower beds. The most prominent of the park is a big statue of Dr.Yersin made by ivory-white granite in the middle. The statue is 4 meters high, including its support. Its foundation covers an area of 700 sq.m., paved by granite.

This work is not only good at appearance but meaningful as well. By sculptural language, its sculptors, Xuan Tuan and Ngo Lien from Ho Chi Minh City Art Association, show Dr Yersin’s soul on his statue. The face is benevolent but thoughtful. The statue block is firm like his great scientific career. The statue seems to be image of Dr Yersin existent with Khanh Hoa land and people.
Building this park, Khanh Hoa people desire to express gratitude to Dr. Yersin for his great contribution to the world health care as well as Khanh Hoa land.
In Khanh Hoa, people affectionately called him Ông Năm (Mr. Nam/Fifth).
A street
in Nha Trang was named Yersin. His tomb in Suoi Dau has been preserved and visited by many foreign tourists. Yersin's house in Nha Trang is now the Yersin Museum. A private university founded in 2004 in Da Lat even was named "
Yersin
University
" in his honor.
