Held by Khanh Hoa Provincial Association of Arts, the 17th Photo Contest themed “The beauty of Khanh Hoa” has drawn more than 300 entries from 39 artists depicting the landscape and people of Khanh Hoa.
On August 16, the best 100 excellent works out of 300 entries were displayed at the Provincial Center of Culture. Each work showed the specific charm and attraction of Khanh Hoa.
Local residents and tourists had a chance to view genuine images taken from a variety of angles and distances.
They included “Peaceful homeland” by Vu Ngoc Hoang, “Pace of life at fishing village” by Van Thanh Chau, “Harvest season” by Le Bu, “Offshore fishing” by Vo Van Dung, “Sea products” by Ha Binh, “Young lady with Spratly Islands” by Vu Hong Tam, “Paternal love” by Nguyen Ngoc Phung, etc.
Held every two years, the contest has provided a great opportunity to promote the image of Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa at home and abroad. The event has also promoted photography in Khanh Hoa.
“Nha Trang is a stunning location for photographic adventure. All the entries are genuine images depicting various themes, especially the landscape and the local people.
Therefore, it’s quite difficult for us to choose the best,” said Photographer Dao Tien Dat, member of Vietnam Photographers’ Association, Deputy President of the panel of judges.
“All the entries show the great creative effort, expressing the local socio-economic growth,” said Hoang Nhat Tuyen, Chairman of Khanh Hoa Association of Arts.
The fact that the event this year drew many young photographers is really a satisfactory signal for the local photography.
The contest has added to the push for the development of photography in Khanh Hoa.
