German film festival attracts Nha Trang people

German film festival, held in Nha Trang from September 20 – 23, attracted 2,500 viewers. 9 films during the festival have brought Nha Trang residents new knowledge of Germany.

Coming to 10 Hoang Hoa Tham Cinema, Nha Trang very soon on the opening reception of German film festival, Former Director of Education and Training Nguyen Viet Canh and his wife eagerly said, “This is the first German film festival in Nha Trang. We want to see such a film to know more about German movies.”


 

Like him, many Nha Trang residents were very exciting with the festival. On the first day of the festival with the film “Promising The Moon”, the cinema was mostly full of viewers who were from many ages and backgrounds.

“I have seen four film during the festival. The film “Promising The Moon” left me good feeling about love and family sentiment. The German film festival gave me an opportunity to learn about culture and people of Germany”, Duong Thi Gai, a student of Nha Trang Culture Art and Tourism College, said after watching some films.

The film shows were attended by a number of foreigners who are members of Vietnam – Germany Friendship Association and tourists. The festival were really attractive to them.

To make the German film festival popular, the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Khanh Hoa Movie Center coordinated with many related departments to organized. Propaganda has been attached importance with many activities such as press conference and announcements by caravans, to offices and schools or in streets. Therefore, a number of people in Nha Trang knew about the festival. Tickets were issued free at many public places such as the provincial Library and Nha Trang Youth Union.

Dinh Van Lang, deputy director of the provincial Movie Center said, “The first German film festival in Nha Trang has been organized successful. Nearly 2,500 viewers coming to the cinema has proved it.”

Head of Goethe Institute in Ho Chi Minh City said, “Success of this film festival encourages us to hold more to bring German movie closer to Vietnam. We’re also thinking about German music activities in Nha Trang.”
