Still running unprofessionally but Judo in Khanh Hoa Province has won remarkable achievement in national as well as international tournaments.
. Lack of investment
In 1990s, Khanh Hoa Province was considered as a center of martial arts of the country because of its strong development in movements as well as achievement of Karatedo, Taekwondo, Wushu và Judo. However, after that, like some others, Judo has met a lot of difficulties and now it’s running unprofessionally in the province.
In recent years, Judo followers have still maintained practice for their keenness. In Khanh Hoa Province now, there are three Judo clubs, two of which in Nha Trang and the other in Cam Lam, with about 200 practicers.
Judo in the province has no conditions to rise up to the professional level because of lack in force as well as materials.
. Good achievement in many tournaments
Despite difficulties, under the direction of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the support of Korean community in Vietnam, Judo of Khanh Hoa Province has attained good achievement.
Specifically, right from its start in 1991, the provincial team won a bronze medal in 54kg weight at the national event. In 1994, the team won the gold medal at the national Judo championship for the youth. Especially, in 2012, Judo got great successes at national events with one gold, one silver and seven bronzes.
