Being a sports activity in Nha Trang Sea Festival 2013, Nha Trang Sea Fishing Contest promises to be an interesting event.
As planned, Nha Trang People’s Committee will organize a sea fishing contest and a sea creature release to reproduce fishery source on June 6. This sports event is expected to add an interesting playground for tourists on the occasion of the sea festival.
The event will take place on the waters to the south of Hon Tre Island.

“Sea fishing is a healthy sport, featuring the coastal area. The contest aims to introduce tourists a kind of local sport and raise the awareness of sea benefit protection”, said Nguyen Tuan Thanh, a member of the Organization Board.
The event also is an appeal that fishing and release need to go abreast each other. They have to be made scientifically, technically and practically not to damage ecological environment.

The sea fishing contest is also a way Nha Trang Sea Festival 2013’s organization board to mobilize and call local and foreign benefactors to support sea creature release for reproduction.
This is the fifth time such a sea fishing contest has been held in Nha Trang. In Sea Festival 2011, the similar contest was competed by more than 400 fishermen from 48 teams, 2 of which included Chinese tourists.

Appearing as an activity in biennial sea festivals in Nha Trang, sea fishing contests have partly introduced tourist image of the city to tourists at home and abroad and raised the awareness of environment protection.
