Traditional martial arts movement rising in Nha Trang

Along with the development of martial arts movement in the province, traditional martial arts and its clubs have operated stably during the past time.

The whole province now has about 15 traditional martial schools practicing at 41 clubs and spots with more than 1,500 followers. Of 8 districts and towns, Nha Trang is the place where the traditional martial arts develop the most strongly with the biggest number of 1,000 students and many schools such as Bich Quang Mon, Hac Long, Minh Long, Son Long, Phi Long Chanh and Huynh Huynh De. Nha Trang also supplies athletes for the provincial team at domestic as well as international competitions.

As a result, Nha Trang Martial Arts Competition is an occasion for martial clubs and schools to show their talents and evaluate their training quality. The competition this year, held on June 29 – 30, was joined by 13 units, clubs and schools in the city.

Traditional martial arts have contributed some high achievement at national and international tournaments. For example, at the third International Traditional Vietnamese Martial Arts Competition in Ho Chi Minh City in July, 2012, Khanh Hoa team won 2 gold medals and 4 silvers. The provincial team also got 17 medals at the National Traditional Vietnamese Martial Arts Championship in August, 2012.

The above prove that the traditional martial arts are developing well in Khanh Hoa.
