Expectedly, the opening ceremony of the Khanh Hoa 7th physical training and sports festival will take place on August 29 in Nha Trang 19-8 Stadium. From March till now, some sports within the festival’s program have been organized in some localities in the province.
Expectedly, the opening ceremony of the Khanh Hoa 7th physical training and sports festival will take place on August 29 in Nha Trang 19-8 Stadium. From March till now, some sports within the festival’s program have been organized in some localities in the province.
This festival has 13 events, lasting from March to November. Up till now, 7 events including taekwondo, beach volleyball, vovinam, Chinese chess, and cross-country run were organized in some localities in the province such as Nha Trang City, Cam Lam District, and Van Ninh District, attracting over 700 athletes. The organizing board gave 100 medals to excellent players.
Among those sports events, some ones such as the provincial beach volleyball championships (Nha Trang City), Vovinam tournament (Van Ninh District), and provincial cross-country run (Cam Lam District) attracted a large number of athletes to participate as well as received the most attention from the provincial Sports Department. These sports promise to bring medal to Khanh Hoa sports delegation in the national physical training and sports festival 2014.

“The athletics, especially in long-distance run is expected to gain Khanh Hoa sports delegation medal. Besides, this year, we can count on some sports which have had a strong development and gained high achievements such as beach volleyball and traditional martial arts,” said Nguyen Minh Dat, Deputy Director of Khanh Hoa provincial center of sports technique training.
Nguyen Van Hoa, Deputy Director of the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said "Through this sports festival, the provincial sports department will check and assess the development of the public sports movement, basing on the building up athlete force in the localities in the province. In addition, this is also as occasion to evaluate the organization and direction skill of the staffs, coaches, and referees; select and train the excellent athletes and coaches to prepare for the national physical training and sports festival 2014.”
After the opening ceremony, the other sports events such as traditional martial arts, badminton, football, and crossbow shooting will take place till the end of November.
Reportedly, the Khanh Hoa sports delegation will compete in around 20 events out of 46 ones. Khanh Hoa expects to enter top 15 in the national sports festival 2014.
