With over 500 regular members of 25 badminton units and clubs and the annual badminton tournament at city level, badminton movement in Nha Trang City has been evaluated to have a sustainable development.
According to Khanh Hoa Badminton Federation, the whole province now has more than 35 badminton units and clubs (over 800 members). Nha Trang is the strongest with 25 clubs and over 500 members. The badminton movement in the city has developed sustainably.
Specifically, Nha Trang City Culture – Sports Center holds team, teenage and children badminton championships at city level yearly in order to remain badminton movement and create a playground for young players. This tournament has been highly appreciated in scale and profession.
This is shown clearly through the sharp increase in number of players as well as teams and their competition year by year. This year’s event drew over 150 players from 23 communes, wards, and schools while the figures were 100 players from 17 units in 2011.

The participating units have also made a better investment in force and quality of players. Therefore, the tournament has become more attractive, partly impulsing the development of badminton in the city.
Mr. Trinh Bich Vien, a specialist of Nha Trang Culture - Sports Center, said that most of the communes and wards in the city had invested in infrastructures and means of practicing.
This shows a good development tendency at grassroots level of badminton movement in Nha Trang City. This stability is an important factor to revive Khanh Hoa badminton.
However, up to now, Khanh Hoa has not gained any significant achievement in professional badminton. Some good badminton players of the province such as Huynh Ngoc Hien, Vo Van Thanh and Pham Nhu Ha have been ranked just at the average level when competing in regional or national events. This matter should be taken into consideration in order to raise level of the province's movement.
