Vietnam sports delegation including 150 members in which are 101 athletes will take part in the 2nd Asian Young Sports Festival held in Nam Kinh from August 16 to 28.
Vietnam will compete in 14 out of 17 events, including badminton, table tennis, tennis, football, swimming, springboard, athletics, weight-lifting, taekwondo, fencing, shooting, judo, golf, and handball.
This is considered an occasion to evaluate athletes’ ability and prepare for Youth Olympic Games 2014, especially ASIAD 18 held in Hanoi in 2019.
Expectedly, the festival will be joined by 3,900 athletes and officials from 45 countries and territories.
The athletes’ village officially opened on August 12.
