tournament is a traditional playground, promoting the badminton movement in Khanh Hoa Province.
Over 220 athletes from 21 teams (14 clubs of Khanh Hoa Province and 7 groups from other ones) joined the 13th club open badminton tournament 2013 held at Khanh Hoa Sports Competition House from October 25 to 27. The athletes, divided into 5 aged groups from under 31 to above 51 years old, competed in 17 events, including men’s single, women’s single, men’s doubles, women’s double and mixed doubles.
The number of participants this year was less than that in previous years; however, it was highly appreciated in the professional quality thanks to the attendance of outstanding amateur athletes of the province such as Huynh Ngoc Hien, Nguyen Thi Kim Lien (Anh Duong Club) and Truong Hieu Nghia (Huy Froza). In addition, the tournament also joined by good players from other provinces.

According to Mai Duc Chinh, Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial Badminton Federation, Khanh Hoa club open badminton tournament created an attraction to badminton players in the province through twelve times of organization. This tournament not only was an opportunity for the amateur players to exchange and learn experience but also promoted the development of badminton movement in the Central Highlands region
Most of participants had good preparation for the tournament before the start, resulting in ebullient and attractive atmosphere in each match.
“If we had well focused and combined, we would have won golden medal in women’s doubles. The competitors in this year’s tournament were very strong and had a good preparation, creating a high professional quality,” Nguyen Chuyen Hong Tran from Lam Dong group shared after becoming champion in women’s single and runner-up in women’s doubles for group of under 31 years old.
Vo Tan Binh, member of the organization board said “This tournament showed a good development of badminton movement in Khanh Hoa Province. One of the successes of this year’s tournament was the effective support of the sponsors through the form of sports socialization.”
