Reportedly, this tournament received a higher appreciation compared to the previous tournaments thanks to the salient improvement in both numbers of participants and quality. Beside the strong teams from Nha Trang, Cam Ranh, Dien Khanh and Van Ninh and so on, this year’s tournament saw the first attention of some clubs and units which had a careful preparation and investment in depth and quality.

The most noticeable athletes of this tournament were the nine young ones (aged from 16 to 18) of the provincial table-tennis team, coached by Doan Kien Quoc who used to gain many achievements for Khanh Hoa’s table tennis.

The tournament was considered as a good opportunity for the amateurs and young athletes to satisfy their passion as well as to exchange and learn experience. According to Nguyen Truong Sinh, head of Van Ninh’s table-tennis team, in the previous years, Van Ninh joined the tournament with no preparation for the athletes; however, this year, the district had a focus in investment for the young players.

The first matches of this year’s tournament took place in an ebullient atmosphere with a strong competition between athletes. Dao Huu Nguyen, team member of Power Engineering Consulting Join Stock Company 4, said “The young players of this tournament have a good professional quality and were well invested. If they have more chances to exchange and learn experience, they will make a quick progress and gain many achievements for the table-tennis movement in the province.”

With the quite good performances of the athletes and better investment of the units and localities, it can be seen some positive signs of table-tennis in Khanh Hoa Province.
