The world’s champion 2014 Thach Kim Tuan competed in the young men’s 56kg weight category and won a golden medal after successful lifting 285kg in total.

The champion of SEA Games 26 Tran Le Quoc Toan gained silver medal with the total weight of 270kg at over-20-year-old men’s 56kg weight category.
Nguyen Tran Anh Tuan achieved golden medal in the 56kg weight teenage category with total weight of 112kg (clean) and 141kg (jerk).
Athletes Do Thi Thu Hoai ranked first at over-20-year-old women’s 48kg weight category after lifting 76kg (jerk) and 90kg (clean).
The three other Vietnamese athletes, Hong Ngoc, Tan Tai, Van Hoa, also bagged golden medal at the weight category of 77kg, 85kg and 94kg respectively for ones who were over 20 years old.
