Sanest Khanh Hoa bags bronze medal at 2014 season. |
In 2008, Sanest Khanh Hoa won the championship at the national strong teams’ championship. After that, the team was in top 4 of the tournament for many years. However, in 2013 season, Sanest Khanh Hoa had struggled in order not to relegate in the next season. Therefore, the team’s training board only set target of sixth place for 2014 season.
Besides, in the context that most of athletes of Sanest Khanh Hoa now are young ones while some key players had not well recovered from injuries, the third place of the team at this year’s tournament was an encouraging achievement.
In the preliminary round of 2014 tournament, Sanest Khanh Hoa was in the same group with Maseco Ho Chi Minh City, Military Zone 9, The Cong and the host Military Zone 4 – Becamex Binh Duong. Sanest Khanh Hoa created a good impression with five wins and ended the round at the first place of A Group. In the final round, Sanest Khanh Hoa lost 2-3 to the current champion Duc Long Gia Lai and then overcame Border team 3-1 in the third-place play-off to get the bronze medal.
“Although Sanest Khanh Hoa could not play with the best force, the athletes had a good achievement at this year’s tournament. Especially, some key players like Ngo Van Kieu and Nguyen Truong Giang had been recovering; the young players were also making progress through each match. This was the motivation for the athletes to prepare for the next season,” said Trieu Tu Thien, head coach of Sanest Khanh Hoa.
