Khanh Hoa football open championship: more attractive thanks to more participants

Aiming to increase the quality of the tournament as well as partly contribute to develop football movement in the province, participants of Khanh Hoa football open championship 2014 have been extended to businesses' teams.

Aiming to increase the quality of the tournament as well as partly contribute to develop football movement in the province, participants of Khanh Hoa football open championship 2014 have been extended to businesses’ teams.

This year’s tournament was joined by 12 teams from the localities and businesses in the province, namely Khanh Vinh, Khanh Son, Van Ninh, Dien Khanh, Nha Trang, Ninh Hoa, Dong Tien Cam Lam, Vinh Ngoc Commune, Titans, Viet Trang, Thanh Thanh, and Diamond Bay. The teams play in a round robin format.

The 2014 tournament saw an increase in number of participants compared to 2013. Reportedly, this increase was thanks to the attendance of businesses’ teams like Thanh Thanh, Viet Trang, Titans and Diamond Bay. The participation of those teams not only increased the competitiveness and attraction of the tournament but also helped to promote the football movement among the businesses.

According to Nguyen Van Hoa, Deputy Director of Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, this was not the first time the teams of businesses were allowed to join the provincial football tournament. The 2011 tournament was also attended by four businesses’ teams while eight teams took part in the 2012 tourney.

If the tournament which held annually opens for local teams only, it will be easy to lose its appeal. In that case, there will not have competitiveness in the provincial football movement. The businesses’ teams help to raise the attraction of the tournament as well as the quality of the football movement in the province.

At present, in Khanh Hoa Province, there are about ten businesses’ football teams which have operated quite effectively. In addition to investing in facilities and athlete force, those teams have constantly looked for movement tournaments or exchange ones with teams from other provinces like Binh Thuan, Ninh Thuan, Phu Yen, etc.

With the activities of businesses’ teams, the attendance of those teams in the provincial tournament will become a driving force to promote the football movement in Khanh Hoa Province.
