Following the successes at this year’s season, Khanh Hoa beach volleyball grabbed high achievements at the final round of the national beach volleyball championship held in Da Nang City.
This year is considered as a quite successful season of Khanh Hoa beach volleyball team as they continuously gained high achievements at the national tournaments. Specifically, from the first round of the national tournament (held in Tuy Hoa, Phu Yen) to the seventh National Sports Festival (took place in Nha Trang City), Khanh Hoa’s athletes ranked in top positions. The male pair Nguyen Trong Quoc – Nguyen Thanh Vinh (Sanna Khanh Hoa) was evaluated as the strongest one of Vietnam beach volleyball at present. Other outstanding athlete couple of Sanna Khanh Hoa, Ngo Vo Thanh Loan – Tran Thi Trong, also showed an excellent performance at this year’ season with the third place at the first round of the national tournament and golden medal at the seventh National Sports Festival.

At the final round of the national beach volleyball championship – PV D Gas 2014, running from October 23 to 26 in My Khe beach, Da Nand City, athletes of Khanh Hoa continued asserting their position when both male teams of Khanh Hoa defeated their rivals to play in the final round.
Joining the final round were 14 male teams and 11 female one from the units, provinces and cities, including the fourth Corps, Hai Phong, Khanh Hoa, Ho Chi Minh City and the host Da Nang. Finally, the athlete couple Quoc – Vinh of Khanh Hoa overcame the fellow-countryman couple Phuc – Nhan to win the championship.
According to Dinh Quoc Dien, coach of Khanh Hoa’s volleyball team, this year’s final round was evaluated to have better professional quality than the previous years due to the good preparation of the teams after finishing the National Sports Festival.
In the women’s event, Khanh Hoa’s athletes Loan and Trong also gained ticket to play in the final match. However, they lost to the pair of Ho Chi Minh City, bringing them the second place. The other Khanh Hoa’s female couple, Tuyet Ngan – Thanh Tram stood at third after winning a victory over the couple of Hai Phong.
Khanh Hoa’s player Nguyen Trong Quoc was presented the most excellent female athlete of the tournament.
It can be said that, with these achievements, Khanh Hoa’s beach volleyball continued remaining the position at the top of the tournaments at national level.
